I love how straight forward this caliper is. You press the clamp to adjust the jaw of the caliper, and read the measurement and decimals off the scale of the device. Elegant, simple and reliable.
I might have bought the dial caliper if my usage could justify it, but for 3D printing this incredibly versitile Mitutoyo caliper is the perfect balance between cost and function. If you don't want to spend more than £100 on a caliper, this is as good as it get.
It measures depth, inner and outer diameter.
The first caliper I bought, was one with a digital display. Issue was that I didn't use it often enough, and unlike other tools I own, it had no easy way to remove (or disconnect) the battery. Far too often the battery would be flat when I needed to use it, hence analogue was the way to go.
